Black and white are the essence of elegant. You can choose stripes for a modern touch in forms of a carpet, pillows, curtains or even walls, if you are really bold. I like striped walls, when the stripes are wide and only on a single wall instead of all over, which can be too much for my taste. Try pairing yor white and black with yellow, fuchsia, grey or turquoise.
