Ladders can be seriously decorative AND also useable for every room. You can find some very vintage-looking ones, modern ones, bamboo ones and rustic ones, all in different colors. I love the rustic ones for an Italian style home or a beach-home. I have bamboo ones myself and you can use it for different purposes.
In the bathroom you can use it for hanging towels - love that idea.
For the closet or the bedroom for scarfs, shoes, jewelry or as a nightstand as bookholder (how cute, and it'll be easy to find the page you're on too)
Great to display all your high-heels.
For scarves, belts and necklaces.
Really cool for the bathroom to add something ethnic. I love these Turkish hamam towels on these two last pictures. I'm definitely going to get some of these. They are also really great as beachtowels.

Not necessarily as they do not take up a lot of room. I have a VERY small bathroom and I used to have a ladder in there for towels:)
