Lovely bedroom in white with black, yellow and red accents. The room would have looked a bit plain without the red throw and the bit of yellow, so try putting in a few colors to your white room. I love black and white decor, but I will be sure to put in a color in form of a throw, a lamp, a vase or pillows just like this. I've always loved shudders, so I love these doors. The light streems in so beautifully from them.

1. Bright Lights

2. Texture

A reupholstered piece of furniture in a bright, yetrich color with fabrics like velvet or silk will bring just the right amount ofcolor to the room.

I always been fond of zebra rugs and I really want one for the flat I'll be moving into with my then husband in August, but after taking a closer look at Moroccan rugs, I think this will be what we'll have in our livingroom or bedroom. The zebra rug can be placed in the room without the Moroccan rug. These black and white Moroccan rugs look so so soft and I could imagine walking barefoot on this rug and feeling like you're on a cloud. Do any of you have a Moroccan rug like this?

Well, I've been wanting to show you guys pictures from the book Life and Work - Malene Birger's life in pictures. This huge book is packed with beautiful pictures of Malene Birger's homes in Mallorca and Denmark. I love her style. I especially love all the pictures from her offices in Copenhagen. I really love the white and black theme - it never gets old. The first three pictures here are from there. I think the book is really beautiful made, but a bit on the pricey side, so I went to the library to get my hands on it and borrow it home for a while.

Packing tips

I'm one of those girls, who always overpack, but in the last year or two I've been better at packing, when I'm travelling. I'm going to London on Wednesday and I'm packing tomorrow. You can go to my fashion blog FBG to see what I'll take with me. Untill then, here's a few packing tips I always use, when I'm heading off.

Choose pieces that you can mix and match ( I always pack colors like black, nude and grey, so that I can easily mix them together and also mix them with whatever new buyings you'll do)
Make a list of the outfits you'll wear each day - It's also a great idea to take photos of each set.
Put the heavy items on the bottom and lighter items on top and roll things together.
Fill out all the small gaps with socks, scarfs, underwear etc.
Choose one pair of flats shoes and one pair of heels (if it's winter wear your boots on the plane)
Make sure there's some space left for all the things you'll bring back!

Last but not least, pack your hand luggage with sunnies, flats, jewelry (in case your suitcase gets lost!), passport, wallet (I always bring two - one for my Danish-kroner with all my cards that I leave at the hotel untill I'll be going home and one for foreign money to use at my travel-destination - there's no need to run around with all of your cards etc.!), magazine, camera, ipod and a big scarf (I use the scarf on the plane, when it gets cold and when I get off around my neck)

This beautiful room reminds me of the Cullen's house in the Twilight movies with the beautiful nature outside. Right now we have around -15 degrees celcius, which is pretty cold for a normal Danish winter, but we have days like these in this picture, with cold and sunny weather. I love sitting inside soaking up the warm sun rays through the windows, when it's really cold outside. Makes me dream of summer:)

DIY - gel-candles

Made these little gel-candles the other day inspired by Malene Birger's stamp-drawing.

What you need is: candle gel, a porcelain pen, two small glasses, glas frost paint, brushes, satin ribbon, two small pearls, light wick.

First you paint your glasses with the glass frost paint to make the surface frosty. You can also not do this step.

When the paint is dry, find a picture or something you want to have on your candles and draw it on the glass. I did mine with inspiration from a stamp that was designed by Malene Birger.

Put the satin ribbon around and do a bow and put a pearl on. Cut the wick into two pieces and secure it on metal plates that comes with it and put them on the bottom of the glass with a little glue so that it will stay in place as you pour the gel into the glass.

Pour water in a pot and take some of the gel into a steel bowl that is a little bigger than the pot. Water must not go into the gel.

Boil the water with the bowl on top. After a while the gel transform into a liquid. Then add color if you like or a scent. I chose vanilla.

Pour the liquid in the glasses and wait for it to clot.

Great idea for a little gift or just for yourself and you can paint and draw whatever suits your liking.

Blue is really one of those very classic colors. Especially this peacock/ royal blue. I like the glossy walls. Makes the space look very luxe.

Add blue pillows to an all white room and it will instantly have a Mediteranian feel.

Office space and bedroom all in one. The room is very airy and cool with the white and blue. The wood makes it more warm and inviting.

Blue in form of flowers and pillows. Looks great with the white and the wooden wall.

Under-bed-storage

If you live in a small space or if you need some extra storage (who doesn't), this might be an idea for you. Under bed storage really is a cool way of keeping things organzied and away from the eye to see; less clutter = better sleep. I would keep my sheets and throws in there or maybe some of the clothes I don't wear at the moment. What do you think?

I love candles and especially this time a year, when it's dark in the afternoon already I find them essential in my appartment. I love scented candles, especially in vanilla or white flower: something light and nice.

Candles in the bedroom adds some romance and a nice feel. Also loving candles in the bathroom.

Tealights in small glasses are very decorative and give a nice light.

I love the idea of putting big candles in a glass container. You could also add sand in the bottom.

Candlessticks in different forms put together with different types of candles gives a very romantic, vintage feel.

Love different textures of candles. These are by Lene Bjerre. Love her collection of candles.

I haven't been blogging the last 11 days as my granddad was hospitalized with a stroke and problems with his lungs. We still don't know what is going to happen with him. If they can help him so that he can come home or not...We're praying and hoping for the best. I'm very close with my grandparents so I really haven't had any desire to be blogging lately.

Just wanted to let you know why I've been MIA.

Today's posts is about lacquered boxes. I really love boxes around my home. They look beautiful and can store all the small nic nags you don't want to be showing. I especially like white ones with black frame as I'm into the black and white interior design. You can find lacquered boxes like these in a lot of shapes and colors.

Purple is one of those warm colors that can make a room look very luxe and cool. Purple really comes to its right, when paired with gold or yellow. Just look at the pictures, where there's yellow incorporated in the design; the purple pops. I love purple in small amounts in interior design and it's really easy to bring in the color in forms of pillows or flowers.

The wedding of the year between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries was over the top. The first episode of the two day wedding-special airs tonight so I can't wait to see it.

The theme was black and white and even the guests wore black and white.

Silvery gray makes for a calm yet sophisticated bedroom palette. Touches of luxe in the chandelier and mirrored nightstands add glamour and sparkle.

Luxe antique and formal furniture gives this bedroom an elegant and timeless quality. Love the scattered antique rugs on the floor and the dark, oversize four poster bed. The gilt mirror adds glamour.

Love this chic office or vanity space with the textured wallpaper, chandelier, the glass table and mirror. What makes the whole thing perfect is the chair, which surprises by being more modern and it totally breaks up the space. It would have been too matchy matchy if it was a vintage chair.

Beautiful headbord, amazing lamps, chandelier, beautiful mirror, mirrored sidetables, cowshed and sheepskin = total amaze-ness. The Chanel bag also catches my eye... Love the idea of placing picture-frames on the sidetables instead of hanging them on the walls. Also means that it is easier to change it up when and if you want to.

This combo sure isn't for everyone. It's bold and dramatic and very "black". It looks amaze with gold or a dark purple to keep it dark and dramatic or with white to break it up a little. I'm more into white on white. Would you dare to go black on black in your home?

It's so serene and clean and classic, and if you want to change it up a little just add some color in form of pillows, flowers or furniture.
